This site shares the trail guides and stories of an active group of backpackers based out of the Pacific Northwest. Photography and writing are weaved together to give you a taste of the personality ingrained in each trail. On every hike we learn more about the world, gear limitations, survival, and ourselves. Our hope with this site is that we can pass this information on to others who share similar interests.

In the short film called ‘As It Happens: Pacific Crest Trail‘ produced by ‘As It Happens Films’ (AIHF). There is a point where Ian Mangiardi reflects on the “why” behind hiking and backpacking: “To experience the moment most will never know”. This distills down and encapsulates our philosophy at Wanderlusthiker.

You may notice links to products in the articles on this site. We do this for a couple reasons: 1) To directly share with you what gear we use or would recommend using in specific environments, and 2) every link clicked supports Wanderlusthiker and the production of content on this site. We have attempted to keep the advertising down to a minimum to avoid cluttering up and scattering the important bits of information.

Do you love to hike? Would you like to become a collaborator to share your stories and experiences? We would love to hear from you. Send us a message at email@wanderlusthiker.com.
